At The Masters
With Bernie Najar,PGA
April 3-5, 2011
Since 2005, I have had the opportunity to attend the practice rounds at the Masters to watch the best players in the world prepare for the first major of the year. At the tournament, I spend the bulk of my time filming the players hitting a variety of shots and noting the differences in their techniques. Along with that, I watch how they chart the greens and practice a variety of short game shots they will need in the tournament. For the past 7-years, this has been an invaluable experience and shown below are some of the highlights from my recent trip to the Masters.

The Europeans are always having fun both on the course and at the range. Perhaps that is why they are dominating golf worldwide and kicking our butts at the Ryder Cup every year. Along with that, they practice together and help each other with their games. In the far right picture is Graeme McDowell, Ian Poulter, and Justin Rose looking at their swings together. Despite missing the cut, Graeme McDowell will be walking with Rory Mcllroy today during the final round to support his fellow Irishman's quest for the green jacket. Shown below is Rory pounding a tee shot on 18 during tuesday's practice round. Rory has a great golf swing and is incredibly mature for his age. Today's final round will be a great test for the most exciting young player in the world. Can he go wire to wire for his first major championship win? Fortunately for him, I filmed him which means he is not subjected to my Masters Curse. (I have filmed the winner each year since 2005) Players in contention that I did not film this year include: Tiger Woods, Geoff Ogilvy, Fred Couples and Jason Day.
Enjoy the tournament and have a great time playing this spring!
