Welcome to Bernie Najar Golf Instruction

Since my start in the golf business in 1994, my goal has been to promote the game of golf through my instruction services.  Since 1988, I have had the privilege to work with some of the game’s top instructors that have helped me develop my skills as a player, and my teaching philosophy.  Some of the teachers I have spent time with and observed teach include David Leadbetter, John Redman, Jim McLean, Wayne DeFrancesco, Mac O’Grady, Mike Bender, Tom Jenkins, Fred Griffin, Bob Toski, Jim Flick, Mike Malaska, Phil Blackmar, Craig Farnsworth, Jim Hardy, and Mike Labauve.

Another influence on my teaching philosophy has been studying the best players in the world that I have in my database of tour swings of the top PGA, LPGA, and CHAMPIONS TOUR players.  The database is a combination of film I have personally taken at tour events, and footage of the game’s all time greats that I have compiled over the years.  Watching the best players in action has always been a tremendous influence on how I view the many possible combinations that have worked over time for the best players in the game.

In terms of swing technique, I prefer working with each individual based on what they physically can accomplish relative to their goals.  To do this, I evaluate my students for various physical factors that influence how they can move consistently during a swing.

The physical evaluations I use are a combination of the assessments I have learned from spending time with the following fitness experts:

Dr. Greg Rose, Co-Founder of the Titleist Performance Center
Chris Verna, Fitness Trainer to Karrie Webb, and Morgan Pressel
Charlie McMillin, Muscle Activation Techniques & Resistance Training Specialist

After evaluating my students for physical limitations, I perform a skills assessment that helps pinpoint their present skill level for their overall game, or a given category that they are interested in improving.  To do this, I have a number of evaluations that provide the necessary feedback to accurately assess their skills.  From the assessments, I show each student where they can improve, and personalize a program that fits their needs.

To assist with the learning process, I have equipped my teaching studio with the best feedback tools I have found over the years at the PGA Merchandise Show, and at the top golf academies.  The tools in place are designed to give each student a clear picture of what they are trying to accomplish and to help them understand how it will feel when they do things correctly.

Since 1994, I have taught over 30,000 lessons to a wide range of golfers.  From beginners, to aspiring tour professionals I feel very fortunate to have worked with so many wonderful people over the years.  Through these many experiences, I have developed a passion to help golfers of all abilities.  If you’re interested in a lesson, or have any questions about my instruction services please email me at: bernienajar@comcast.net

Testimonials
"Bernie and I got off to a good start by dropping my handicap by about ten strokes in the first two years. This was accomplished by eliminating obvious and gross flaws. We then began to build a solid swing from the ground up. Bernie used a unique combination of visual, verbal, and tactile feedback to accelerate swing improvements. His approach employed a number of high tech innovations that were tailored to match my learning patterns. My lessons have all been fun, and we are developing a well -rounded game by focusing on the basics of each shot. And, yes, I have continued to improve to our mutual amazement."
