Testimonials
Bernie and I got off to a good start by dropping my handicap by about ten strokes in the first two years. This was accomplished by eliminating obvious and gross flaws. We then began to build a solid swing from the ground up. Bernie used a unique combination of visual, verbal, and tactile feedback to accelerate swing improvements. His approach employed a number of high tech innovations that were tailored to match my learning patterns. My lessons have all been fun, and we are developing a well -rounded game by focusing on the basics of each shot. And, yes, I have continued to improve to our mutual amazement.

“Golf is a life-long hobby for me and Bernie has been a perfect teacher & coach in that pursuit. Bernie is as good as it gets in combining a knowledge of what needs to happen in a golf swing with what you physically can and can't do to make that happen.
-Dennis Zimmerman

Last fall I committed to improving my golf game. I worked with Bernie consistently all winter. He has given me a tremendous understanding of how the golf swing works and applied that to me. Bernie has found what works best for me to understand the golf swing. This has improved my golf swing and confidence considerably. I leave my lesson and can't wait to practice and play! This summer, I had my first HOLE IN ONE and my HDCP went from a 16 to a 9!

Bernie has helped me get my game back to a competitive level quicker than I anticipated. I was away from the game for about four years due to a career change. After working with Bernie this year, I was able to play some solid golf again winning the Washington Metropolitan Mid-Am and finishing 3rd in the Kenridge Invitational. Along with that, I won the Virginia Amateur at International, and the Northern Virginia Amateur at Springfield Country Club for my 3rd Win of the 2008 Season. Bernie has improved both my swing and short game by applying basic principles of geometry to them. Both are now more efficient and repeatable under pressure. Bernie will take his knowledge of the swing and apply it to yours in a clear and concise way. This is done both verbally and visually as he video tapes your swing and then puts you side by side with the top tour players to compare certain aspects of the swing and the direction he plans to take you. I’ve never left a lesson confused, only excited and anxious to get back to the golf course and work on the drills he has suggested.
-Scott Shingler, 2009 Virginia State Golf Association Player of the Year

It is a privilege and a pleasure to have Bernie as our golf teacher. Bernie’s nice sense of humor and his gentle teaching style create an optimal learning environment. Bernie tailors his instruction to the individual- not a one size fits all philosophy. With his state of the art video and computer imaging, you are able to get instant visual feedback as to what your stroke looks like as well as a side-by-side comparison view as to what the whole or a segment of the stroke should actually look like. Through his many gadgets and his new cutting edge swing training system, each golfer gets the benefit of experiencing what a particular swing correction should actually feel like. If you like to practice, Bernie will show you a couple of drills that will isolate the skill you are working on. Although we still have much to improve in our games, Bernie’s instruction helped us win back-to-back championships at our club. A stronger, more consistent swing really makes the game of golf much more enjoyable to play.

"After working with Bernie all winter on my game, I broke 100 for the first time and outdrove my brother in-law by 30 yards- WOW!"
-Leslie Katz

Aside from helping me with my own game, Bernie has been a tremendous asset to our business with his corporate golf entertainment programs for our clients.

It has been a pleasure to work with Bernie the past year. In 2009, I won the Maryland Open, had a top 20 finish in a USGA event and won my club championship. He has taken my golf game to the next level in a very short time. Bernie makes the golf swing seem simple. He does not try to teach the perfect swing but helps you understand how to improve your technique. Bernie focuses on the things that I do well and builds out. His simplicity has let me better understand my swing and react under pressure situations. After working with Bernie the past year, I understand why he is one of the best teachers in the country.
-Matt Bassler, 2009 Maryland Open Champion

Bernie: I'm writing to thank you for your help and support over the past year or so. As you'll likely recall, I made a decision in November of 2008 to make a major change to my golf swing in an effort to take my game to a higher level. For several years prior, my game had improved incrementally but with tremendous inconsistency. My handicap would fluctuate between 3 and 8, and while I once shot 70 and would often shoot in the 70's, I could also shoot 90! My swing had a lot of moving parts, parts that put wear and tear on my back, neck and shoulders and my short game was significantly inferior to other players at my level. After some traveling late '08 and into the new year, we began a regimented process utilizing your indoor facility in mid-January. As you know, we started weekly 90-minute sessions which continued through the end of April. I supported these lessons with practice at the heated range near the airport and several warm weather trips to practice & play. It was a labor intensive process, but your instructions were easy to understand and the drills you created promoted "perfect practice" for when I was out of the view of your discerning eye. Additionally, the high-tech components and limitless training aids of the "Par Savers" studio, provided immediate feedback and reinforced the positive changes we were making. As Winter gave way to Spring, we moved outside to the grass range for most of our sessions, but there was still the occasional return to the MEGSA, the mirrors, or the video screen for a tune-up or further "torture." As the season started the fruits of our labor began to taste pretty sweet. My first round as a new member at Baltimore Country Club was 71 on the East Course. That was followed up by a 74 in my first tournament, which included my 4th hole-in-one. More solid numbers followed; 68 in a guest day, 72 (low round of the day) in the BCC Stroke Play Club Championship, a three-day trip to the beach with rounds of 72-74-73, plus four other rounds in the 60's! My handicap index is now 1.0 and has ranged this season from +0.4 (yes, plus) to 2.5, proof my game is much more solid AND consistent. But, our work is far from done. I'm sure if you asked every TOUR player, including Tiger, "what they are working on?," that the answer would be, "trying to get better." See you soon Bernie and thanks again! Sincerely, Rod

I am 41 years old and put most of my golfing on hold from age 29-40. Last year I committed to get back into golf and began seeking instruction from Bernie Najar. As last summer began I worked myself down to a 6 handicap and by the end of September I ended the year as a 4. My goal this year was to get down to a zero. It’s a long distance from 4-0 and it requires time and commitment but most importantly you need the right instruction. In 2009 I have tried to see Bernie once a week and he has an incredible ability to spot where you need help and delivers the drills and changes in an uncomplicated way that makes it easier to sink ion. Lessons can be frustrating as you find yourself trying to break old habits but Bernie is patient and does not overload you with too much at once. It’s a process and if you commit he can get you where you want to go. I have followed some of his student’s progress and they are among the top amateurs in the State. I hope to get there myself in the coming years. As I write this on July30th 2009 my index is dropping from 2.4 to .8 and 3 of my last 5 rounds have been at or under par. His instruction has given me the confidence to compete against anyone and I look forward to continued progress. If you are serious about golf and you really want to get better seek out the best instruction you can get……Bernie Najar is your man. Thanks Bernie for all your help
